After the major success of Hearthstone Mobile, the next big franchise from the Blizzard Entertainment universe to hit your smartphones is Diablo. Blizzard’s announcement of this new development was made at the recent BlizzCon 2018, in partnership with Netease. The hack and slash PC game hit makers promised the immersive action RPG, will be brought to your fingertips with the new Diablo Immortal. Players can now play as their favorite Avatar on their smartphones. Diablo Immortal picks up immediately after the events of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and will be available on iPhone, Android and iPad.
The game is slated to be an MMORPG action game, where players will be able to travel through the Sanctuary while playing dynamic live events. The massive multiplayer online action RPG will allow players to play as their favorite class – Crusader, Wizard, Demon Hunter, Necromancer, Monk and Barbarian. Blizzard has currently opened pre-registration, giving players a chance to check out the game’s beta.
The Future Of The Diablo Series
The story of Diablo Immortal has been said to be set between the timeline of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and Diablo III. With the Worldstone shattered, Diablo’s minions try to harness the power trapped in its scattered fragments. With the Archangel Tyrael presumed to be dead, mankind has been left to deal with the chaos caused by events of Diablo II. The fragments of the Worldstone curse the land. The resurrected ancient evils hope to harvest the shards’ dark energy and ressurect their Dark Lord – Diablo.
Blizzard Entertainment has been rather quiet about the future of Diablo of late, though earlier this year job listings on the Blizzard website suggested openings for an unannounced Diablo project, hinting at something new for audiences.
Diablo Immortal Crafted For Smartphone Experience
The critically acclaimed Diablo III was launched for PC in 2012 and rapidly rose to become a best-seller. The game later made its debut on consoles with a fresh port. Diablo Immortal is currently being co-developed by Blizzard Entertainment and NetEase. According to the two, the game will be seen introducing new characters and story arcs. It has been designed from the ground up to give the player the authentic Diablo experience on their smartphones and touch-screen devices. Intuitive gestures and touch controls give the player complete control of their chosen hero.
